MK Act Charity CEO wins Criminal Justice Charity Award

The Thames Valley Criminal Justice Charity Awards were held on 22nd March 2024 to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by individuals and organisations in the field of criminal justice. 

Organisers Hope after Harm (Thames Valley Partnership) describes the occasion as “a unique opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those who have gone above and beyond to improve the lives of others.” 

Award entries were judges by The Countess Howe, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire and the Thames Valley High Sheriffs 2023/2024. 

Sue Burke, CEO of MK Act, Milton Keynes based domestic abuse service, was named the winner of the Thames Valley Criminal Justice Charity Award for Contribution to combatting domestic abuse.

The work that we do every day to support victim-survivors of domestic abuse is different with every new case that comes to us, from people calling the helpline to referrals working alongside local services like the police, Milton Keynes City Council and the hospital we strive to support every individual in the way that they personally need to live a life free from domestic abuse.”
